Chilean Hotdogs

Coming from a Chilean background this is one of our go to favourites.  They’re quick to make and delicious.  When family comes over we love putting a full spread of ingredients out on the table for everyone to make their own.  Nothing beats adding a little extra chimi churri  hot sauce to spice it up just the way I like it.

Serves 6

6 hot dog buns
6 american hot dogs
2 ripe tomatos
1 large avocado
4 tablespoons mayonnaise
Salt to taste
Sauerkraut (optional)
Chimi churri hot sauce (optional) – click here for the recipe

  • Lightly fry the hotdogs in a frypan until heated through and a so that there is a little bit of colour on the hotdog.
  • Whilst they’re cooking, dice the tomatoes and season them with salt to taste
  • Peel and mash the avocado with a fork
  • Heat the hot dog rolls slightly in the oven.
  • Slice buns down the middle and place the hot dog inside.
  • Put diced tomato, avocado and mayonnaise along the hotdog.
  • Add the chimi churri and sauerkraut (optional).
  • Enjoy.
